Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

A national printing supplies industry well-known brand demonstration area was approved recently, and is scheduled to be built in Xiangzhou District in the next two years, according to the Xiangzhou government on Jan 24.

The plan was initiated by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Establishing independent and competitive brands is high on the agenda of the 12th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Outline for Quality Development (2011-20).

Zhuhai is often referred to as the print consumables capital of the world. It occupies more than 70 percent of the global market share in colored tape manufacturing. More than 60 percent of compatible ink cartridges and 20 percent of recycled carbon powder components for laser printers are made in Zhuhai.

High up on Zhuhai and Xiangzhou's development agenda is for the industry to become an example for all other industries. Xiangzhou District will step up planning compiling based on acceptance standards.
