Employment high on Xiangzhou’s development agenda

The Xiangzhou District government held 24 job fairs throughout the year where some 1,200 enterprises provided 20,000 jobs for local university graduates, with 26 percent of job seekers reaching employment intention.
Graduates from vocational colleges as well as talents with doctorates and master degrees in Xiangzhou have also been introduced to suitable firms through a series of government-sponsored activities, serving the goal of upgrading the district's economic prowess.

The youth in Xiangzhou, Zhuhai also gained easier access to quality enterprises through the internet. The 12 online recruiting events organized by zh-job.com, a human resources information provider subject to the Zhuhai government, attracted 2,000 daily visitors.
Students still in school have benefited from professional employment skills training ahead of their job searches. Lectures and forums aimed to give guidance on both employment and startups have taken place at Jinan University, Zhuhai Campus and Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai.

Greater impetus has been given to those who want to start their own businesses in Xiangzhou. Excellent young entrepreneurs have arisen from a series of innovation and startup competitions and have enjoyed matching support in terms of finance and government policies. More advanced business incubators, such as Xiangzhou’s newly-launched Tsinghua Innovation Incubator, provide office spaces, entertainment, catering and management services.
