Xiangzhou discusses projects with gene chip experts

A group of experts led by Su Xing, a postdoctoral researcher in gene engineering at Harvard University, visited Xiangzhou-based Health 100 Lab to discuss projects and cooperation on Dec 16.
Su, a biochip inventor, is the project leader at Gene Chip Manufacturing. He is the pioneer who first put forward the idea to use semiconductor microelectronic chips to sequence DNA, and has developed machinery capable of carrying out gene chip-based genotype analysis. The technology can be widely applied in medical treatment, drug testing, and judicial identification.

Officials from Xiangzhou's investment promotion service center briefed the group on the district's favorable government policies in the area.
Su said Xiangzhou District enjoys a good environment for innovation and entrepreneurship with a good development prospect for high and new technology. He said that there would be further discussion about settling projects in Xiangzhou.
