The future is looking bright for Xiangzhou, after its students put their scientific acumen on show, for the district's ninth annual science festival.

Xiangzhou elementary and secondary school students took part in a series of scientific activities and experiments, with the main event being held at Zhuhai Zijing Middle School, on Nov 8.

With government officials in attendance, the students involved in science lectures, demonstrations, and creative painting shows, as well as presenting scientific papers and theoretical practices for professional evaluation.

A highlight of the festival was a competition where students used their physics knowledge to make high yet stable towers.

Similar events took place simultaneously at the No 4 Primary School of Xiangzhou, Zhuhai, and Cuiwei Primary School of Xiangzhou District, and other three schools which were broadcast to the participants at Zhuhai Zijing Middle School.

Chen Hui, director of Xiangzhou District Education Bureau, said that he hoped the annual science festival could act as a platform for students to show their innovation.
