Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

Zhuhai's Xiangzhou District hopes to boost the development of the local economy with the establishment of an association for entrepreneurs to create links and facilitate cooperation between local companies.

Xiangzhou District Entrepreneur Association held the inaugural ceremony for its first council on Oct 30.

At the ceremony, the association vowed to enhance interactions among member companies in response to the global economic downturn, and to make more contributions to the local economy. 

The association was set up last September to promote communication between companies from different industries and facilitate communication between companies and local government. The association will also offer legal consultancy services to protect the rights of businesses.

So far, more than 120 firms from the fields of manufacturing, engineering machinery, real estate, tourism, environmental protection, communication, and services have joined the association. The member companies have a total output value of about 1 billion yuan ($147.73 million), creating some 50,000 jobs.
