Clapper talk, cross talk, dances and Chinese traditional classical music were performed for Xiangzhou retirees and elderly people on Oct 9, the Double Ninth Festival.

The festival, also known as Chongyang Festival, is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, in memory of ancestors and for family reunions.

Dancers perform at an art show in Xiangzhou on the Double Ninth Festival which falls on Oct 9 this year.

Some 500 participants crowded the Ningxi Culture Plaza to watch the evening show where 13 teams made up of 136 participants aged from six to 74 took part.

One of the highlights was the cross talk -- telling interesting stories among family members, demonstrating harmonious relationships between different generations.

More such art shows have benefited and will continue to satisfy Xiangzhou’s aged people to enrich their lives.
