Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

Some of China’s hottest rock bands, singers and performers gathered at Haibin Beach (City Parlor) in Xiangzhou District on Oct 1-2, as part of the 2016 Zhuhai International Beach Music Festival.

Famous performers such as rock musician Xu Wei and singer-songwriter Tanya Chua took to the stage, as well as veteran bands such as Miserable Faith and Omnipotent Youth Society.

Good Sister (Haomeimei) and rising independent singer-songwriter Chen Li entertained the crowds with their post-90s hits. Locals’ favorites Laofoye and Hourglass also performed over the weekend.  

For this year’s festival, audience members were offered a truly immersive experience via Royole-X’s virtual reality (VR). The headsets are the world’s first foldable smart mobile theatre devices.

The annual music festival, first staged in 2003, has been attracting music fans to the beaches of Zhuhai for more than a decade.
