Xiangzhou to expand its e-commerce

Updated: 2016-09-22 Print

Discussions on increasing exchanges between Xiangzhou District in Zhuhai and the Commonwealth of Independent States market pioneer U-Fun, took place on Sept 15.

The exchanges, which focused on integrating manufacturing resources, took place between a delegation from Russian e-commerce platform U-Fun, Xiangzhou’s investment promotion service center, and bureau of commerce.

U-Fun, whose Chinese headquarters was set up in Zhuhai earlier this year, specializes in CIS countries such as Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. To facilitate Chinese exports, the company offers a one-stop service including payment, logistics, customs clearance and marketing.

Since the U-Fun platform came into use earlier this year, more than a million registered users have bought products on it, valued at 15 million yuan ($2.2 million).

Officials from Xiangzhou spoke of the district’s development and favorable policies for companies like U-Fun to be able to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) go global.

In response to the Belt and Road Initiative, the government promised to pave path for e-commerce development by establishing communication channels between SMEs and U-Fun.
