Nurses in Xiangzhou battled it out on Sept 10, to see who would become a “Zhuhai Technical Expert” at an event held by Xiangzhou District Human Resources Center.

A final competition for nursing care skills is held in Xiangzhou on Sept 10.

Twenty nurses who made it to the final were tasked with carrying out CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) as well as bandaging up injured heads. Participants were also required to measure vital signs such as pulse, temperature and blood pressure.

Pu Xin came out on top and was awarded as “Zhuhai Technical Expert”, followed by nurses Zhou Jihong and Wang Junhua.

The competition, co-sponsored by Zhuhai Human Resources & Social Security Bureau and Zhuhai Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, was aimed to discover and nurture more care attendant talents.

To ensure enough quality human resources for increasing demand during social transformation, Xiangzhou and Zhuhai have organized a series of vocational skills contests for professions such as bakers, bartenders and pediatric nurses.
