Jinwan dishes up lavish holiday activities

Beaches, sea views, campfires, and DIY moon cakes and essential oil soap-making will join intangible cultural heritage shows for Mid-Autumn Festival in Jinwan District. In addition, the Top Ten Jinwan Cuisines and fun games for the National Day (Oct 1) holiday promise to delight visitors in the western district that includes Sanzao, Hongqi, Pingsha, Nanshui, and Zhuhai Airport.

Mid-Autumn Festival

From Sept 15 to 16, 120 families will have an opportunity to make and eat moon cakes at Golden Beach and Shanggu Health Preservation Resort. Young and old can also make essential oil soaps at Leshi Eco-Park.

Furthermore, intangible cultural heritage shows including the Sanzao Crane Song, Sanzao Folk Songs, Sanzao Weaving, and Sanzao Lion Dances will give visitors with a taste of local culture. Meanwhile, Jinwan University students will present art performances to enliven the atmosphere.

The highlight will be on Sept 15, when festivities include a moonlight celebration with a bonfire party on the beach. Families can also appreciate the full moon and cool sea breeze while enjoying the other activities.

Golden Beach 

National Day holiday

Apart from the bonfire and camping, the Top Ten Jinwan Cuisines, Top Ten Traditional Delicacies, Top Ten Private-Recipe Cuisines, (the latter being selected this year), and quality farm produce will be on sale at Golden Beach during the seven-day National Day holiday.

Furthermore, parent-child activities such as beach runs, tug-of-war, and treasure hunts will be organized, with the first 30 participating families being awarded small gifts daily. In the meantime, fun games, Thai Chi show, and canoe races based on villager groups and social organizations will be staged during the holiday.
