Asia's first German AI research center embraced

The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) announced that it is to open its first Asian branch on Aug 5, at a conference during Made in China 2025.
The researcher signed an agreement to open the branch in Zhuhai's Xiangzhou, boosting the district's artificial intelligence development.
DFKI, one of the world's largest nonprofit contract research institutes in the field of artificial intelligence software, signed the deal with Zhuhai 4-D Age Technology, a visual effects service provider.
At the conference, DFKI Prof Didier Stricker expressed his faith and optimism in the Chinese artificial and intelligent manufacturing market. He said the center will build an intelligent museum of optical scanning techniques, develop robots and automatic navigation as well as develop human body big data for healthcare.

The deal represents a breakthrough for Xiangzhou and even the city of Zhuhai's development in the field of artificial intelligence. A spokesperson for Xiangzhou said that it's a great opportunity to take advantage of world-class technology to boost local progress and further lift the level of the science in Zhuhai to new heights.
The conference was jointly organized by DFKI and Zhuhai 4-D Age Technology, with officials and hundreds of experts from home and abroad taking part.
Experienced researchers exchanged ideas about Chinese artificial intelligence development and gave suggestions on Xiangzhou's further progress in the field.
Xiangzhou's industrial development, investment environment and its upgrade plans were also discussed, along with startups and innovative enterprises, facilitating the district's new programs in supporting innovation and pioneering work.
