The Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center (CEC) won the Golden Dolphin Award on Aug 18 for the third consecutive year, following its capture of the Golden Five-Star Outstanding Convention Center Award last month.

The CEC is a magnificent modern architectural complex situated in the Shizimen Central Business District adjacent to Hengqin New Area and overlooking Macao across the waterway. The facility has a 30,000 sq m interior exhibition center integrating a hotel, Grade-A office building, theater, concert hall, and supporting commercial facilities.

Since opening in 2014, the center has earned numerous professional awards such as the Newly Built Convention Center With Greatest Potentials, the Most Influential Convention & Exhibition Venue, and the Most Popular International Convention Center. It also has won the China Construction Engineering Luban Prize -- the country’s premier award for design and construction.

The China Golden Dolphin Award is formally known as the 2015-16 China Iconic Convention & Exhibition Venue Award. It is the most authoritative and influential annual prize in the MICE industry. The “Oscar” was presented during the 12th China International Event Festival (CIEF 2016) held in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan Province, from Aug 17 to 19.

CEC general manager Fu Rui said that such widespread recognition will further facilitate efforts to expand upstream and downstream industries and thus help Zhuhai become an initiator of even more high-end events.
