According to a new plan from the government, Zhuhai plans to convince experienced doctors by providing up to 7.5 million yuan ($1.12 million) in subsidies to top medial teams willing to work in the city’s hospitals. The hospital itself will provide the same amount in subsidies to the medical team willing to make a pledge to settle and with this plan, the government hopes to bring in 200 top healthcare professionals in the next three years.

The professionals encouraged to apply are classified in three categories, according to the plan. Category I includes academians and national-level professionals, while Category II includes provincial-level professionals and specialists who have received the State Council Special Allowance. Category III includes top specialist doctors and outstanding younger doctors.

Healthcare professionals willing and eligible to work in Zhuhai will be given special allowances, housing subsidiaries and others benefits such as employment and education for their spouse and children, respectively. These professionals are allowed to work part-time in Zhuhai, but their stay in the city should not be less than 183 days out of the year and may also participate through a series of cooperation programs.

Zhuhai is currently in need of top healthcare professionals and hospitals within the city have been hurrying to attract senior doctors from other cities and provinces to make up this loss.
