Renovations to Zhuhai’s City Parlor, otherwise known as Haibin Beach, in Jida are to resume in September and be completed by year end, the Xiangzhou District government has announced.
Since the previous upgrade of the City Parlor in 2013, pieces of oyster shells have surfaced and thick sludge has accumulated to reduce comfort levels and cause hidden dangers to the beach.

The project will cost about 5.43 million yuan ($812,000), which is to be included in the district’s financial budget.
The project will cover a length of 690 m and width of 45 m. The current surface-layer sand will be moved to the water’s edge to function as the bottom layer and then be replaced by a layer with a much higher level of comfort. This process will not only expand the beach, but also increase the quality of its surface.
The project is now up for bid, a Xiangzhou government official disclosed.
