Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai

The city’s largest marketplace for imported goods, the Zhuhai HUcheng Import (Cross-Border) Commodities Direct-Sell Center, opened at Dantin City Square in Xiangzhou on July 3. 

With floorage exceeding 10,000 sq m, HUcheng is selling imported foods, wines, daily-use chemicals, infant and maternal products, health-care items, fruit, glasses, and cold-chain (temperature-controlled) products. 

Invested by Zhuhai Duty-free Enterprises Group, the one-stop center is equipped with a large movie theater, bodybuilding club, brand-name restaurants, health-preservation center, and children’s amusement facilities.

As part of the group’s efforts to boost development of a mixed ownership economy, the center is its first cross-border e-commerce demonstration business. The aim is to not only strengthen the vitality and influence of the State-owned economy, but to help other economic contributors utilize State resources to compete for market share in a fair way, said Li Dongyi, chairman of the group, in his opening speech. 

Based on well-known brands and the team’s operational excellence, the center endeavors to become yet another business miracle in Zhuhai, according to Li.
