Falling on September 15 to 18, preparations for this year's World Internet of Things Exposition (WIOT) are well under way. The development of IoT in Wuxi has accelerated in recent years, as is evidenced by the widespread applications that have spanned across local industries.
Jiangyin-based Shuangliang Eco-energy Systems has invested nearly 30 million yuan ($4.68 million) since 2011 to develop the Shuangliang Cloud Smart Energy Management Platform (hereinafter referred to as the Shuangliang Cloud Platform).
The platform provides a smart and efficient way for energy saving management in industries and buildings.
"There is much room for energy conservation due to China’s extensive management of energy and widespread man-made waste," said Wu Gang, president of Shuangliang Group.
Shuangliang Cloud Platform is an energy management system that combines the internet of things products, internet communications and cloud computing technology, and integrates a wide range of functions, such as remote monitoring and cloud data backup, Wu added.
Users and engineers are able to know the operating parameters of energy facilities, including water temperature, steam pressure and energy consumption data, round the clock through the Shuangliang Cloud Platform, which is equipped with renowned sensors from home and abroad.
Xu Jianfeng, deputy general manager of Shuangliang Group, said that the Shuangliang Cloud Platform monitors information for more than 1,000 pieces of energy saving equipment around the world, including some in Shanghai Disney Resort.
Users can control the energy consumption cost of equipment and optimize the energy consumption of equipment through analyzing calculation models of energy consumption indicators provided by the Shuangliang Cloud Platform, with experts at hand if users need any assistance.
"Shuangliang Cloud Platform can provide predictive services and remote diagnostics. We can promptly notify users how to handle the equipment if it is showing signs of failure and offer them accurate remote diagnostics," said Xu.
The Shuangliang Cloud Platform has also reduced costs and improved efficiency, providing comprehensive energy savings of 20 percent to 50 percent for various users, extending the life of energy equipment by five to ten years, reducing energy costs by 20 percent to 50 percent and cutting management costs by 15 percent to 30 percent.
