IoT inventions win gold in Wuxi

From shared bikes to smart screwdrivers, 12 cutting-edge inventions using the latest internet of things technology won gold awards on the opening day of the World Internet of Things Expo in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Sept 10.

The winning projects, which were selected from over 600 entries, represent the most exciting applications of IoT technology to be developed during the last twelve months.

"The entries we received, especially the award-winning projects, are the latest cutting-edge, industry-leading projects," said Gu Xiaofeng, doctoral supervisor from the School of IoT Engineering at Jiangnan University, who was one of the competition judges.

Wu Hequan, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, announced the 12 gold awards, 24 silver awards, and 36 awards for excellence at a special ceremony.

The winning projects, which included several technologies developed Fortune 500 companies such as Huawei and China Mobile, covered a huge variety of industries in industry, agriculture and transport.
