According to the Price Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, by Sept 26, the ticket prices of 99 scenic spots in Guangxi were reduced or will be reduced before the upcoming National Day, most with a reduction rate of about 20 percent and some with even 30 percent.

It is said that the ticket price of three-star boat in Lijiang River Tourism Zone has reduced from 270 yuan ($39.21) to 215 yuan and the four-star boat, from 450 yuan to 360 yuan. The ticket price of Reed Flute Cave in Guilin has reduced from 110 yuan to 90 yuan, the Volcanic National Geological Park on Weizhou Island in Beihai, from 115 yuan to 98 yuan, and the Crystal Palace of Bama in Hechi, reducing to 150 yuan from 180 yuan.

In order to ensure the smooth progress of price reduction, the Price Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has taken measures to cut the prices of 5A scenic spots in batches, while actively promoting the price reduction of 4A and lower level scenic spots.

By Sept 1, the prices of 11 scenic spots such as Guilin Xiangshan Scenic Area have been reduced.

On Sept 13, the Price Bureau of the autonomous region issued an urgent notice requesting that the ticket prices of a number of key state-owned scenic spots be reduced before the upcoming National Day.

The notice required that the price reduction rate should not be lower than 20 percent in principle, and the prices for transport offered in the scenic spots such as sightseeing vehicles, cruise ships and ropeways should also be reduced.

The Price Bureau also requires government managed and guided scenic spots to lower prices and be free of charge for 65-year-olds and older people, and to offer half-price tickets for 60- to 65-year-olds.

Further measures will be taken to expand the scope of price reduction, and management on ticket prices of scenic spots with prominent problems will be strengthened, according to the official of the bureau.
