Launched under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism on Oct 28, 2018, the workshop has developed new innovations, and has helped cultivate skilled talents sponsored by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, the Tianjin municipal government, the Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences, the National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia and related enterprises.

During their evaluation trip, the experts listened to a report and inspected teaching equipment, patents and real products from the Chinese sponsor college, reviewed files and heard feedback from business executives, officials and representatives of teachers and students through online surveys.

The expert group agreed that the Cambodia Luban Workshop has achieved good results in institutional improvement, teaching resource optimization, faculty training, international talent cultivation, scientific research application, and humanities exchanges.

Notably, the workshop was awarded the Sahametrei Medal and Grand Knight Medal by the Cambodian government, and has received high praise from leaders of the two countries.

Lin Ruihua, the cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, delivered a speech at the evaluation meeting. He said that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia. The development of China-Cambodia relations has ushered in new historical opportunities. It is hoped that the two countries will continue to build a larger platform to carry out extensive multi-country and multi-level in-depth cooperation.
