China's Ministry of Education (MOE) announced on March 28 that, with the approval of the State Council, a world conference on vocational and technical education is set to kick off in Tianjin in mid-to-late June.
The conference will gather representatives from international organizations, domestic and foreign enterprises, research institutions and vocational colleges and center on the theme "post-epidemic development agenda of vocational and technical education".
The invitees are expected to discuss digital economic empowerment, industry and education integration, poverty reduction and lifelong learning, as well as share experience and achievements and explore the direction and main tasks of global vocational education reform.
There will be an on-site occasion supplemented with online links. Its sconcurrent events include a vocational college skills competition and an industry-vocational education integration expo.
The MOE plans to hold the conference every two years based on the principles of communication, cooperation and innovative development, gradually building the conference into a platform with important global influence.
