Tianjin is speeding up construction of the Tajikistan Luban Workshop, which is set to open by the end of this year, according to the city's education commission.
Tianjin Urban Construction Management & Vocation Technology College (TUCMVTC) and the Technological University of Tajikistan (TUT) signed a memorandum to promote the project at a virtual conference held on Jan 4 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-Tajikistan bilateral relations.
The Tajikistan Luban Workshop will offer two majors, engineering survey technology and urban thermal energy application, in accordance with actual demand of local social and economic growth and composition of disciplines at TUT.
TUCMVTC has set up seven special working groups to steer the construction of the workshop in cooperation with TUT since it was authorized to undertake the task in 2021.
During the past two months, staff members of the special working groups have worked around the clock and held a meeting each morning to accelerate the construction of the Luban Workshop in Tajikistan.
Li Qingbin, Party chief of TUCMVTC, said the university is working on improving construction plans, drafting curricular programs and technical standards, and pooling teaching resources in order to ensure that the workshop is completed on time.
