A closing ceremony of the India Luban Workshop EPIP (Engineering Practice Innovation Project) Faculty Training Seminar was held at Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College on December 4, 2016.

Li Yunmei, Vice President of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, presided over the closing ceremony.

A video clip was broadcast to review the academic studies and on-campus life of Indian trainees at Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College.

Dai Yuwei, President of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, introduced the development and importance of the just-concluded training seminar.

He said that the Chinese and Indian teachers engaged in mutual learning during their interaction over the past few days and that the training program provided an opportunity for his colleagues to further enhance their competence in bilingual education and laid a solid foundation for the college to conduct future training activities for overseas students.

Speaking in a pre-recorded video at the ceremony, P. Sriram, President of the Chennai Institute of Technology, extended his greetings and congratulations to all trainees.

Representatives of Indian trainees expressed their gratitude to Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College and its teachers for their intensive preparations and sound instruction during the entire training seminar.

Ding Wei, a professor with Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, summed up the curricular arrangements and relevant activities during the training event.

Lyu Jingquan, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, spoke highly of the training program in his address.

He stressed that it was the latest cooperation made by China and India on vocational cooperation, urged attendees from the two sides to maintain closer contact and further consolidate their friendship, and called on Indian trainees to make the Luban Workshop initiative known by more people.

Lyu said that the introduction of the Luban Workshop initiative, named in honor of Lu Ban, an ancient Chinese craftsman who lived during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC), is of great importance to better align with China's Belt and Road Initiative and support more domestic vocational institutes to go abroad.

Lyu said that more efforts should be made to further advance industry-driven high-level cooperation between China and India, deepen the cooperation between colleges and enterprises and integrated development between industries and education, accelerate the implementation of the EPIP program with Tianjin's characteristics in India and spread technologies and friendship in the years to come.
