Jizhou district in the northernmost part of Tianjin banks on ecological protection and high-quality tourism to pursue economic progress. Clear water and lush mountains are invaluable assets here.

The district has witnessed notable ecological improvement after years of efforts to protect its reservoirs, curb sandstorms, plant trees and reclaim mines.

At present, the district has a green area coverage of over 50 percent, with the figure reaching 80 percent in its northern mountain areas.

Its air quality has been the best in Tianjin for the last three years, making it a national pilot zone for ecological protection.

The district is home to 164 homestays and four homestay villages, which have experienced a boom after expanding their expressway network.

Jizhou’s agricultural products have been in community markets in four districts of Beijing.

Industries have seen accelerating upgrades, new players in high-end industrial projects such as the Guotai Beijing-Tianjin Artificial Intelligence Industrial Park, and the large-scale commercial format Wanda Plaza has been introduced.

Local authorities are making detailed plans with national think tanks such as Development Research Center of the State Council and Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences to cut emissions and achieve their carbon neutrality goal.
