Conference on the steel pipe industry opens in Jinghai

On Oct 16, the (first) Daqiuzhuang Forum and the Conference on Collaborative Innovation and Development of the Steel Pipe Industry Chain kicked off in Jinghai district.

Qu HaiFu, deputy secretary of Jinghai District Committee and head of Jinghai district, stated that over the past years, Jinghai has built its own steel industry cluster, with an annual processing capacity of over 38 million tons of steel and over 10 million tons of welded pipes, making it the largest welded pipe processing base nationwide. In accordance with the requirements of the "Ten Actions" deployment by Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, Jinghai will continuously promote the transformation and upgrading of the steel industry and its green development, striving for new achievements in scientific and technological innovation, demonstrating new achievements in strengthening and complementing the supply chain, and seeking new breakthroughs in industrial upgrading.

He emphasized that efforts will be made to fully build a high-end, intelligent, and green steel industry cluster. Taking this forum as an opportunity, Jinghai will explore development opportunities, deepen comprehensive exchanges and cooperation, and build a stable industrial chain.

This conference was organized by the China Metallurgical Information and Standardization Institute, Tianjin Industrial and Information Technology Bureau, and the People's Government of Tianjin’s Jinghai District.

During the event, the first batch of certified enterprises for low-pressure fluid conveying welded steel pipes (hot-dip galvanized) was released, and the joint construction base for the research and development of steel pipe standards was unveiled.

Over 500 attendees including leaders from local government and guests from enterprises in the industry nationwide participated in the conference.
