Software industry expo opens in Tianjin on Aug 31

The 25th China International Software Expo (CISE) is held in Tianjin from Aug  31 to Sept 2, bringing together over 1,000 top academicians, experts, and renowned software companies from around the world.

The Tianjin software achievement exhibition area covers an expansive 1,300 square meters, offering a glimpse of the developmental course and accomplishments of Tianjin's software and information service industry.

In recent years, Tianjin's software industry has sustained a rapid growth, with the industry's scale expanding from 71.1 billion yuan($9.75 billion) in 2013 to 272.2 billion yuan in 2022. Over the course of a decade, the industry's scale has doubled, boasting an annual average growth rate of 16.1 percent.

Tianjin has advantageous foundational software, rapid growing industrial software, expanding application software. It strives to form the industry clustering in parks across the city.

The Binhai New Area serves as the core region for the development of Tianjin's software industry. In 2022, the revenue from the software and information service industry reached 238.18 billion yuan, accounting for 87.5 percent of the city's total industrial scale. It has emerged as a crucial driving force that leads the city's high-quality development in the intelligent technology industry.

It has gathered a group of strategic emerging industries represented by companies like Inspur and Feiteng, fostering leading enterprises such as Toutiao and Tencent. It has also attracted high-end research institutions like the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

As a result, Binhai has become a region in Tianjin with the richest innovative resources, the highest number of independent intellectual property rights, and the greatest economic growth potential.

The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, a major collaborative project between the governments of China and Singapore, focuses on industries like the internet and artificial intelligence.

The Eco-City has attracted well-known internet companies such as Meituan, Momo, and Autohome. The revenue of the Development Zone's Service Outsourcing Park tops 60 billion yuan. The Northern Big Data Trading Center has commenced operations, opening a new chapter in the circulation of data elements.
