The 2023 Tianjin Tuanbo Lake Half Marathon kicks off

The 2023 Tianjin Tuanbo Lake Half Marathon and the "Sports Color Cup" Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Fitness Run Invitational Tournament started at the Tianjin International Cooperation Demonstration Zone for Health Industry beside Tuanbo Lake on June 18. Li Kemin, director of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports, Liu Chunlei, secretary of the CPC Jinghai District Committee, Qu Haifu, head of Jinghai district and officials of relevant departments attended the launch.

Liu announced the start of the competition at 6:30 am. Officials and guests initiated the competition with the sound of the siren. With the sound of the flute, over 1,500 athletes from the half marathon group, rushed past the starting line. Subsequently, more than 1,000 runners participating in fitness and parent-child runs followed suit.

The event was sponsored by the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports and the Jinghai District People's Government, and hosted by Jinghai District Sports Bureau and Tianjin Tianao Sports Industry Co., Ltd. The event was divided into three groups: the half marathon, the 5km fitness run, and the 5km parent-child run. The route passed through many important spots such as Tennis Center, Duliujian River and Tuanbo Lake. The finishing point of the half marathon was at the Sports Avenue on the north side of Tianjin International Tennis Center. The finishing point of the healthy run and the family run was at the intersection of Changhai Road and Sports Avenue. The beautiful scenery of Jinghai Health City and Sports City could be seen along the way.

After intense competition, Mohammed Abdu Endris from Ethiopia won first place in the half marathon race in the men's group with 01:07:08. Ke Zhonghao from Tianjin and Ma Yixuan from Beijing ranked second and third, respectively. Wu Shuqing from the women's group won first place in the half marathon race with 01:20:43. Liu Lili and Wang Hua from Tianjin won second and third place, respectively. The runners who participated in the healthy run and the parent-child run also successfully finished the race and said they relished the joy of the race.
