The first phase of Design Park in Tianjin's Dongli district has officially opened to the public. Six key structures — including the landmark Tianjin Wing, the House of Art, and the House of Design — passed inspection on Nov 17.

About 150,000 square meters of the park are now accessible, transforming what was once an overgrown and underused riverfront into a design-themed public space that blends creativity with natural scenery.

Covering roughly 400,000 square meters from East Haihe Road to the Haihe River, the park links major crossings including Jizhao Bridge and Chunyi Bridge. As a flagship project under Tianjin's "City of Design" initiative, it not only provides new recreational facilities for surrounding neighborhoods but also enhances the landscape of the upper Haihe River.

More than 4,500 existing trees have been preserved and integrated with newly planted ginkgo and crabapple trees, creating a rich, seasonal landscape.

Among the park's signature structures is the Tianjin Wing — a 155-meter, V-shaped cable-stayed bridge whose two sweeping wings open at a 90-degree angle, resembling a seagull in flight.
