On Dec 2, the 3rd Tianjin Community Sports Showcase took place in Tianjin’s Dongli district.

During the event, the responsible personnel from the Tianjin Municipal Sports Bureau stated that the organization of this activity is one of the important initiatives to meet the health and fitness needs of local people. More sports events will be organized, so as to make the achievements in sports development more accessible and beneficial to local people.

The event included two major categories of competitions: performance and competitive activities, seeing numerous outstanding teams from each district of Tianjin participate. The performance events included fitness dances, tai chi, martial arts, and other traditional fitness projects; while the competitive events, such as volleyball and table tennis, were intensely competitive and captivating.
Furthermore, to encourage more people to engage in sports, members of the Tianjin women’s volleyball team and Tianjin men's basketball team were invited to provide fitness guidance to participants.

Since the beginning of this year, more than 5,000 mass sports events have been organized in Tianjin, with nearly 600,000 participants. The diverse community sports games have significantly enhanced the fitness awareness and enthusiasm of the general public.
This community sports showcase was hosted by the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports and the People's Government of Dongli district. Nearly 1,000 representatives from each district of Tianjin attended.
