Over the past ten years, Huaming High-tech Zone has insisted on the development principle of "technological innovation leads development", and has grasped the opportunities presented by the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area to form the framework of a new technology industry through the continual optimization of industries.

Since the Tianjin government approved to build the Huaming High-tech Zone in 2008, it has been recognized as a national intellectual property pilot park, the Huaming intelligent manufacturing town, an intellectual property characteristic town, and a Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industry transfer key undertaking platform. With an area of 10.3 square kilometers, it has become a national level high-tech zone that enjoys the supporting policies of the government.
After ten years of development, in 2022, the total industrial output value of Huaming High-tech Zone is expected to reach 6.5 billion yuan (about $903 million), and the tax revenue is expected to reach 600 million yuan. At present, there are five national level incubators, three municipal incubator carriers, three municipal industrial technological research institutes, and 1,503 registered enterprises, which include 500 physical office production enterprises, 110 enterprises above designated size, 24 specialized new enterprises, 104 high-tech enterprises, and 120 small and medium-sized technology-based enterprises.

The economic and industrial strength of Huaming High-tech Zone has been steadily improved, and the high-tech pattern has been formed. The zone has focused on the development of intelligent manufacturing equipment, medical health, cutting-edge emerging materials and intellectual property services, and has successively introduced a number of major projects, such as the State Grid, CRRC, Jingdong Asia No.1, and State Intellectual Property Office Patent Examination Collaboration Tianjin Center, to sign contracts and settle in the area. It has also cultivated a bunch of small and medium-sized technology-based enterprises.
Huaming High-tech Zone has continued to attract and cultivate scientific and technological enterprises and activated the development vitality of the park, which has achieved remarkable results in the cultivation of innovation subjects. There are 104 national high-tech enterprises and 120 national high-tech SMEs, making the zone a gathering highland of innovation entities in Dongli district and demonstrating its advantages in new economic development.
Additionally, the zone has been promoting the gathering of scientific research institutes; the number of talents introduced by those institutes and incubators accounts for 80% of the total number of the park. The level of patent ownership is in lead position in the region. Scientific research institutions and enterprises have accumulated 2,187 patents in total.
