Over the past decade, the industrial economy of Dongli has transformed from a rapid growth mode to green high-quality development. The total industrial output value beyond the planned figure reached 102.1 billion yuan (about $14.2 billion) in 2021, with a year-on-year growth of 22.6%; its industrial added value reached 28.36 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 5.5%, accounting for 40.1% of the region's GDP, of which the manufacturing added value accounted for 37%, 13.7 percent higher than Tianjin’s average.
Over the past ten years, Dongli has also upgraded its traditional industries so as to form a modern new industrialization system with high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, new generation automotive technology, and biomedicine. The number of strategic emerging enterprises has increased by 49 to 67.
Moreover, with the continuous improvement of the intelligent level of enterprises, the competitiveness of the manufacturing companies in Dongli has been increased. There are 6 national corporate technology centers and 31 municipal corporate technology centers. Twenty enterprises have been listed as pilot enterprises for the integrated development system of informatization and industrialization. Dongli Economic Development Area, Huaming High-Tech Zone and other industrial parks have also attracted 234 enterprises to settle, which has accelerated the gathering of intelligent and technological industries.
