The 2024 "Eco-Innovation • Green Action" International Young Talents Innovation Competition & Eco-City "Innovation Star" Competition kicked off in the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City on April 24.

This competition aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among young people in environmental protection and smart development, fostering the discovery of more green, innovative, and practical solutions for the development of eco-cities.

Moreover, it endeavors to attract high-quality projects and exceptional talent from both domestic and international arenas, infusing greater vibrancy into the Eco-city.

Since its establishment in 2011, the competition has received 1,344 innovative and implementable entries from 446 enterprises, universities, teams and individuals from 99 cities in China and other countries.

The competition has been instrumental in providing effective technologies, products, and services for the sustainable development of the city and society.

Aligned with the objectives of the Tianjin Ecology and Environment Bureau to drive the green transformation of the economy and society in Tianjin, this year's event placed particular emphasis on enhancing energy utilization efficiency while reducing pollutants and carbon emissions.

Youths worldwide are encouraged to submit proposals in six major areas: green buildings, eco-environmental protection and governance, new energy and materials, intelligent connectivity network applications, and innovative data elements.

In addition to the final prizes, winning teams also stand to benefit from relevant incentive policies and services, including industry funding support and talent awards provided by the governments of Singapore and the Eco-City post-competition.

The competition has received guidance from the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. As the earliest, largest, and most academically advanced science and technology association in the eco-environmental sector in China, it aims to inspire more talents to engage in green development and enhance the competition's influence in the field of eco-environment.
