Binhai New Area focuses on the development of large aircrafts, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, new-generation rockets, satellites and space stations to build a world-class aerospace industry base.

Development Priorities

Binhai New Area gives full play to the leading role of Airbus A320 assembly line in promoting the development of aircraft engines, avionics systems and airborne, airport and air traffic control equipment and other key components to improve the level of support and parts localization rate. Binhai New Area introduces new leading projects and builds the complete industrial chain for large aircrafts. Binhai New Area promotes the construction of AVIC helicopter headquarters and its R & D base, and develops light, medium, large and heavy-duty helicopters to enhance the independent R & D and production capacity of civil helicopters in China. Binhai New Area develops "Rainbow" series of UAVs and form near, middle and high altitude independent intellectual property product line. Binhai New Area also develops a new generation of launch vehicles with a diameter of 5 meters and actively undertakes larger diameter rocket projects to attract parts and components manufacturers to form the industry chain of launch vehicles. Binhai New Area develops space station and Beidou satellite navigation system and form the satellite R & D manufacturing industry chain. Binhai New Area promotes the mutual transformation of space technology and civilian technology, and speeds up the civilization of space products.

It is estimated that by 2020, the output value of the area will reach 280 billion yuan, accounting for about 7 percent of the total industrial output in the new district, with an average output of 9.3 billion yuan per square kilometer.
