In January, Tianjin Port saw over 60 percent of its cargo throughput delivered to Belt and Road countries.

Located on the coast of the Bohai Sea, the port is a pivotal shipping outlet for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

It had handled more than 20 million 20-foot equivalent unit containers by late December, a landmark figure, according to the port's operator.

It has over 133 cargo routes, extending trade ties with more than 800 ports in over 200 countries and regions.

Giving full play to cutting-edge smart technologies such as AI technology, 5G, driverless trucks, the port has made breakthroughs in intelligent evolution, greatly enhancing operating efficiency and energy saving.

Also, powered by solar and wind energy, the newly released terminal by the port has achieved 'zero-carbon' emission.
