The Boeing 737 air freighter of Tianjin Cargo Airlines landed at the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport on Jan 22, after a two-hour flight, marking the official opening of the cargo flight from Xi'an to Tianjin.
It is the first cargo flight to be opened at the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport in 2019. It was made possible through cooperation between West Airport Group Aviation Logistics Co and Tianjin Cargo Airlines.
The Boeing 737 air freighter departed from Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 5 am and arrived in Xi'an at 7 am. It then departed from Xi'an at 7:40 am. The return cargo mainly consisted of express airmail from Northwest China.
With a total of six flights from Tuesday to Sunday, it is currently the most frequent cargo flight in Shaanxi province. It has opened the aviation logistics channel between Shaanxi and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic circle and further expanded the scope of trade services.
International cargo flights throughout North China will make full use of the international cargo hubs in Xi'an, Hanoi, Hahn, Amsterdam etc., to offer efficient transport between South Asia and Europe.
Xi'an currently has a total of 19 cargo flights, including six international flights, further strengthening its position as an aviation hub of the Belt and Road.
In 2019, West Airport Group Aviation Logistics Co plans to establish partnerships with local governments, airlines, and logistics companies in industrial synergies and further improve the cargo flight network, providing strong support for the construction of the Shaanxi "international transportation corridor".
