The main thermal line running from Beijiang power plant, Binhai to Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City has been functional from Dece.1 according to management Committee of the Eco-city.
The Green Line, a key livelihood project of the eco-city built by China Railway 18 Bureau Group Jian'an Company, provides heating for nearly 500,000 residents in the Eco-city and central fishing port.
The total length of the Beijiang Power Plant thermal network pipelines is more than 40 kilometers with an heating area spanning over 20 million square meters.
The new pipeline, approximately 17 kilometers and a maximum diameter of 1.4 meters, is an important part of the integration of the four central heating power plants in Binhai New Area. The project has created a number of records in Tianjin.
The project promotes Tianjin green development and accelerates the construction of ecological cities.
The water source of the pipe network is made of desalinated seawater after being treated with strict technology, thus, it is recyclable. It can save gas of 10.4 million square meters per year after the project is put into use. Simultaneously, it reduces the amount of industrial pollutants and atmospheric pollutants caused by coal heating.
The project has also helped ease central heating pressure of the central city.
