Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is China's first Happiest Ecological City. The award was announced at the 2018 China Happiness City Forum held in Guangzho on November 26th.
The event has been held for 12 years and has selected over 60 Happy Cities.
This year, more than 96 cities were selected to attend the event based on the authoritative China City Competitiveness Report and other references.
Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up, this year's evaluation considered cities' achievements over the past 40 years in fields such as medical care, health, education, public security, environment, and housing prices.
A more comprehensive evaluation includes urban employment, public services, urban pensions and other services.
"Happiest Eco-city is a new item that we added this year. The reason is that with China's urbanization, new city forms emerge as Eco-city did in this case. It has had great success in the past 10 years. In addition, the ecological environment has always been an important indicator for people to measure happiness. I hope Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City serves as an example for city ecological environment," said Zhang Zhiyong, secretary-general of the China's Most Happiness City Selection Committee.
