The Binhai Literature Festival themed on "Let silk road literature boom, together a better future we build" was held in Tianjin's Binhai Cultural Centeron Oct 19 to 21.
Over 100 domestic and foreign writers and representatives of the literary publishing industry came to the festival for the collision of ideas, including Counsellor Matemera Lovemore of the Zimbabwean Embassy in China, and Counsellor Virgile Rwanyagatare of the Rwandan Embassy in China.

During the three-day festival, events like theme salons, a literary works exhibition, and e-book experiences were carried out to create an open reading space and good reading atmosphere in Binhai.

"As a national comprehensive supporting reform pilot zone, Binhai New Area has driven the cultural industry to show a strong development trend with its rapid economic and social development," according to the sponsor of the festival. "The cultural industry has become a new engine for regional economic growth."
