Binhai New Area flash bus payment supported by UnionPay

In addition to the UnionPay IC card and UnionPay mobile phone flash payments, Binhai New Area, Tianjin residents now have another quick payment choice when taking the bus – the UnionPay Board QR.

All users need to do is download the Cloud Flashpay application and get registered. The QR is presented on the front page of the app; only a scan is needed to close the deal. The fair is transferred automatically from the connected bank card. Users are spared troubles such as purchasing a card, charging, or waiting in line for a ticket.

It's the first time UnionPay has launched an industrial QR. It supports offline terminals, avoiding the transaction failures caused by terminal disconnection, which makes travel more efficient and convenient. More bus and subway services are set to be launched. This development represents another beneficial measure UnionPay is taking in public transportation.

All buses lines, and all 1300 buses, in Binhai New Area support flash payment by UnionPay, and the procedure is expected to be available in all of Tianjian next month.
