The contest, supported by Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, aims to present Tianjin as an open, inclusive, dynamic, and friendly city to the world.

The themes of this contest include, but are not limited to, city landscapes, nature, cultural features, industrial development, opening-up, liveability, battle against COVID-19, environment, and rural revitalization.

The contestants are required to submit their entries as an attachment to illustrate the theme, content, and the story of the photographs.

“Our focus will always be on foreigners in Tianjin,” said Luan Jianzhang, director of Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government and vice-president of the Tianjin People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

“Through the eyes and lenses of foreigners in Tianjin, we intend to build a platform for the world to learn more about Tianjin,” said Luan Jianzhang at the launch ceremony.

Representatives of foreign business associations and international student groups were asked to click the shutter together at the same time to announce the launch of the contest.

“This contest is of brilliant conception and extensive perspectives,” said a contestant at the ceremony. “Win or not, I do hope this match will help my friends and family learn more about Tianjin, the city I love.”
