H3C Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup under Tsinghua Holdings, has successfully completed production and package testing of its independently developed core network processor chips, which can successfully work with the company’s self-developed firmware and test software.

The core network processor chips will be put into production this year and can be widely used in network products like routers. The company plans to release high-end router products using the self-developed core network processors in the first half of 2021.

Innovative breakthroughs in the network communication chips will help H3C stay ahead of the competition in China's high-end router market and tap into the international market.

The chips will also expand Tsinghua Unigroup’s businesses and further form a complete IT and network industrial chain covering mobile communication, storage, network chips, and cloud computing.

As 5G is being used in various scenarios, the market has a strong demand for high-end routers. Against this backdrop, H3C established the semiconductor technology company in 2019, focused on independent research and development of a new generation of high-end router chips. The efforts will provide customers with high-end router products and solutions and help them further enhance business capabilities.

The newly developed chips are manufactured in a 16nm process, and H3C is expected to release high-end router products equipped with self-developed core network processor chips in the first half of 2021.

H3C leads the high-end router market and has become a main supplier of core networks for operators, including China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom by passing rigorous testing. It will support operators to smoothly finish transition to 5G services and provide high-quality network products for 5G commercial applications in the future.
