Public safety innovator builds community platform for COVID-19 prevention and control

Immediately after the onset of the outbreak, Tsinghua University's Institute for Public Safety Research and Beijing GS Technology Co., Ltd. (GSAFETY) set up a real-time epidemic situation awareness and analysis system for the Wuhan Municipal Government's Emergency Command Center and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

In just one week, the system was quickly in use by the epidemic prevention commands and epidemic monitoring platforms of more than 16 provinces and 30 cities including Beijing, Hubei, Guangdong, and Hunan.

GSAFETY also developed a community platform for COVID-19 prevention and control, building a comprehensive data collection system covering individuals, communities, enterprises, and governments. It will provide services such as personal information reporting, community epidemic investigation, work resumption tracking, and city epidemic situation analysis.

Interface of the medical health big data platform

Chengdu Tus-Digital Medical Technology Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tus-Holdings, has built a medical health big data platform for the real-time and full-scale collection and processing of medical data in Chengdu city. The platform has access to data of 51 hospitals in Chengdu’s Wuhou district and helps the district conduct real-time medical monitoring for epidemic prevention.

By tracking and analyzing patients with symptoms including fever, cough, and pneumonia as well as patients diagnosed with pneumonia and those who have had close contact with COVID-19 infected patients, the platform collects statistics which it analyzes and reports to governmental departments.

Over the past 15 days, the platform has tracked 4,089 people and investigated nearly 100 suspected patients.
