2020-02-03

Subsidiaries of Tsinghua Holdings, including Tus-Holdings, Chengzhi Holdings, MOOC-EN Education, and Beijing GS Technology Co Ltd (GSAFETY), have shouldered their social responsibility and taken active and effective actions to combat the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), which the WHO refers to as COVID-19.

Real-time epidemic situation awareness and analysis system

Tsinghua University's Institute for Public Safety Research and Beijing GS Technology Co., Ltd. (GSAFETY) quickly set up a real-time epidemic situation awareness and analysis system to tackle the outbreak of COVID-19. The system can monitor, collect, analyze, and visualize real-time regional epidemic data, allowing governments of different levels to dispatch emergency resources, research epidemic situations, and make supported decisions.

The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and more than 20 provinces and cities including Guangdong, Wuhan, Hefei, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Foshan have used the system.

The Wuhan municipal government’s emergency command center, which was built by Tsinghua University's Institute for Public Safety Research and GSAFETY, was immediately transformed into the city’s COVID-19 prevention and control command center after the outbreak. It has supported government officials in epidemic data analysis, command and dispatching, information transmission, and situational analysis and judgment.

The university's Institute for Public Safety Research and GSAFETY have also sent a number of technical personnel to conduct 24/7 on-site responses in Wuhan city.
