Inner Mongolia autonomous region's urban planning system is the first provincial level project undertaken by the Tsinghua Tongheng Planning & Design Institute Co Ltd. The planning will be a basis and spatial management platform for governments at different levels to develop industry clusters and control population movement, allocate the urban-rural space resources, optimize urban-rural space layout, allocate major infrastructure and public service facilities, guide the planning of special projects and urban-rural construction of the region's administrative divisions at different levels and select the location of major projects. Moreover, the planning is expected to stimulate international, inter-provincial, and municipal coordination and cooperation.
