Guo Daiheng
Professor Guo Daiheng is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University, and is a national first-grade registered architect.
A student of Liang Sicheng, a Chinese architect and scholar often known as the "father" of modern Chinese architecture, Guo dedicated herself to the study of Chinese ancient architecture history for over 50 years with many research results. She has won the first prize of the National Natural Science Award, the first prize of the National Science Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, and the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to the research of Chinese ancient architectural theories and relic architecture protection.
She has participated in relic architectures and cultural heritages protection and renovation projects, such as the Prince Gong's Mansion, Yuanmingyuan in Beijing and the ancient buildings cluster on the Songshan Mountain in the Henan province.
The Leifeng new pagoda project in Hangzhou has integrated modern structure with ruins protection, illustrating the advanced relic protection concept and skilled design. The project won the second prize for outstanding perspective design issued by the Ministry of Construction in 2003 and first prize for outstanding perspective design issued by the Ministry of Education in the same year.
