Yuan Xin is the general manager and head of the Tsinghua Tongheng Planning & Design Institute Co Ltd and a senior engineer at the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University.

Yuan has taken charge of and participated in many major architectural projects, such as the planning for the western area of Zhongguancun Science Park, design for the urban axis area of Beijing, master planning of the city of Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the designing of the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos urban agglomeration in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

He is also the winner of domestic and international awards for planning and design.
