Zhuang Weimin

Zhuang Weimin,academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serves as head and chief architect of Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and dean and doctoral supervisor of the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University.

Zhuang is also a member of the International Union of Architects, the China Green Building Association, the APEC Architect Project Monitoring Committee as well as a senior member of the Architectural Society of China and the co-chairman of the UIA International Professional Practice Commission. 

In his career as an architect, professor Zhuang Weimin has directed and participated in many important projects such as the reconstruction of the National Art Museum of China, designing the main stadium and shooting range hall for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games as well as the Century Hall of Tsinghua University, Antarctica Zhongshan Station, and Tsinghua University Science Park's Science Park Tower. 

Zhuang was also nominated as the China Design Master by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2008, one of the Top100 Contemporary Chinese Architects selected by the Architectural Society of China in 2012 and was the winner of Architectural Education Award by the Architectural Society of China in the same year. 

Zhuang has published a series of academic papers and books, including the Introduction to Architectural Planning and UIA Accord on Recommended International Standards of Professionalism in Architectural Practice: A Handbook of Global Professionalismin Architectural Practice.
