Lu Xinchun is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University and the chairman of Tianjin Hwatsing Technology Co Ltd. He mainly devotes himself to the research of chemically mechanical polishing, film preparation, and nano-structured materials.

He has 19 national invention patents and has published more than 100 papers.

Lu was elected as a distinguished professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program in 2009 and was the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2008. Lu received other honors, including the first prize of the China University Award in Natural Sciences in 2001 and the third prize of Natural Sciences Award ofthe Chinese Academy of Sciences.
