Su Guofeng is a research fellow and doctoral supervisor of the Public Safety Research Institute of Tsinghua University. He is currently deputy head of the Tsinghua University-Hefei Public Safety Research Institute, executive president of Beijing Global Safety Technology Co Ltd, and chairman of Beijing Global Safety Information Technology Co Ltd.

Su is engaged in public safety research and technology transfer. He has achieved fruitful results in theoretical and technological research in emergency management as well as industrialization of monitoring and early warning systems and public safety emergency platforms. He has won first prize and second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and seven other science and technology awards at provincial and ministerial level.

Su has been the principal leader of six national science and technology research projects, including projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published over 50 papers and two monographs and translated two books.

Su leads his team in industrializing research results, with products and applications widely used in governments at different levels, national departments and large enterprises. Moreover, he leads in the planning design and promotion of overseas emergency platform projects. The emergency platform technical systems and integrated equipment have been successfully exported and reaped a current value of 1.5 billion yuan ($224.46 million).

Su holds part-time positions in relevant public safety social organizations such as vice chairman of the geographic information emergency security working committee of the China Association for the Geographic Information Society and managing director of the China Meteorological Service Association.
