Xiamen's exhibition industry continues to heat up this year

In July, a variety of exhibitions have been pouring in to Xiamen. It is expected that over 15 different types of exhibitions, including those focusing on power grid equipment, lighting, and animation, will be held in the city this month.

The 3rd Xiamen International New Grid Equipment Exhibition was recently held at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center (XICEC), providing a professional industrial platform for brand promotion and trade expansion for exhibitors and buyers.

The 2024 Xiamen International Lighting Exhibition will take place from July 17 to 19 at Hall A2 of the XICEC, with an expected exhibition area of 20,000 square meters, attracting over 500 domestic and foreign exhibitors.

Meanwhile, the 2024 China (Xiamen) International Construction Machinery and Wheel Excavator Exhibition will be held from July 18 to 20 at the XICEC, showcasing the latest technologies, products, and solutions.

This month, around 10 anime-themed exhibitions will also be held in Xiamen, including the 11th Ziyu Comic-Con, and the Yuanqi Comic and Game Exhibition.

From January to May, Xiamen hosted 64 exhibitions with a total exhibition area of 955,000 square meters, a record high and 76.54 percent more exhibitions than last year. There were also 1,704 conferences held, with a total of 315,000 participants. The economic benefits reached 11.71 billion yuan ($1.6 billion), a 37.68 percent year-on-year growth rate. 

Among these events, 29 exhibitions were large-scale events with an area exceeding 10,000 square meters, including the 24th Xiamen Stone Fair and Xiamen Industrial Exposition.

In 2024, Xiamen will strengthen cooperation and communication with international exhibition organizations and well-known exhibition enterprises, aiming to introduce more internationally renowned exhibition projects and resources. The city will strive to achieve a total annual exhibition area of three million square meters.
