In the first two months, Xiamen's economy continued to recover, with stable growth in production demand. The economy has maintained a steady upward trend since the start of the second half of last year, with several industries achieving strong results.

Specifically, the retail sales of new energy vehicles above the quota amounted to 1.46 billion yuan ($196 million), a 39.9-percent increase.

Xiamen's industrial economy continued the positive development momentum from the fourth quarter of last year, with the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increasing by 10.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

The growth was widespread, with over 70 percent of industries experiencing growth, and 27 out of 35 major industrial categories achieving positive growth.

Due to the strong consumer demand and the impact of various consumption-promoting policies in Xiamen, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 56.33 billion yuan in the first two months, an increase of 4.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

In particular, the growth of online retail sales continued to accelerate, with retail sales of goods through public networks exceeding the designated limit, reaching 11.65 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.6 percent.

Xiamen's service industry showed robust growth, particularly with the tourism market. During this year's Spring Festival holiday, the number of tourists received and tourism revenue in the city increased by 86.5 percent and 30 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

From January to February, the total import and export value of the city reached 147.07 billion yuan. The actual utilization of foreign capital in the city reached $242 million, a 5.8-percent year-on-year increase.
